  Secret Elders Meetings & Armaggedon Checklists from FDS ...

  the faithful slave has put out a list of things they think jw's should have on hand, due to the closeness of armaggedon.

  if jw's dont have such a list they can ask their local elders for a copy of such.... .

  does anyone know about such a list ???.

  This is all funny because years and years ago I knew a new brother, very "into it" that made tribulation/armegeddon survival preparations, food, first aid , gallons of water........ Make a long story short, he was counseled for not relying on Jeh.

  That's old school, Fred Franz stuff, that relying on Jehovah. The modern-day Borg relies on corporate attorneys and marketability. One of their key marketing strategies is to retain customers through fear. If "God's Organization" is telling people to gather survival gear then YOU KNOW our lives are in imminent danger!!!ZZZ#@!1 Better not even look outside of the ark/chariot/turnip-wagon.

  My teen daughter is being pressured to get baptized :(

  my oldest teenage daughter (15) is a publisher and goes to all meetings with her father (we divorced, he picks her up).

  i try to get her more involved in school and to spend more time with friends outside the congregation.

  i'm to the point where i'm going to simply forbid it and send her off to collage early!

  Basic ground rules for debating the existence of god or lack thereof

  i can accept, as a matter of logical fact, that nobody can in the literal rather than colloquial sense prove that there is no such thing as a god.. this, like many other axioms sets the stage for an actual conversation about the evidence, here are a few i've gathered, would appreciate your opinions, and maybe additions to the list.

  i'll toss out five to start.. .

  1 - it is impossible to prove there is no god whatsoever.. 2 - only a god concept which is well defined can be proven not to exist if it's prescribed traits prove to contradict evidence or become logically contradictory.. 3 - demonstrating an event or phenomena which is not yet explained by science does not prove the existence of god(s).. 4 - an appeal to personal revelation or experience is useless to anyone else, as you cannot provide evidence of it, and it is not repeatable.. 5 - a natural explanation is always logically more likely than a supernatural one..

  when you had to deal judicially with cases of apostasy, did it ever pique yout curiousity?

  did anyone ever tell you about something they had learned that shocked you and made you investigate for yourself?.

  By "awake" do you mean that they intuitively know the Borg doesn't have a clue? Or do you mean they know most of the same things those of us who have researched "apostate" information know?

  Old light is applicable until replaced by new light. They're not talking about it for the past decade or so because of the NGO membership scandal for one reason, and because they have NO CLUE for another. They just don't know what to say about it. Once the iron curtain fell and Fred Franz was dead they have had no real response to anything happening on the planet. They just recycle whatever they think will retain members and motivate them to serve and give and try to ignore the rest.

  It's going to shrink in on itself like a white dwarf. No supernova explosion. Just a running out of fuel, a sigh, and only a tiny flickering candle will remain. I hope it comes in my lifetime and I'm confident that it will come in my child's lifetime.
